New FREE Book Release! “Winter of the Gods and Other Stories” is here!

Hi All!  For the past few weeks I’ve been working away on putting together a collection of my old stories that are sort of prequels/alternative timelines to “The Zemnian Series,” with a general introduction and little intros for each of the stories.  I’m thrilled to say that the book is now ready and can be acquired completely FREE via BookFunnel here.  You can also sign up for my mailing list via the same link!

Winter of the Gods Cover Small

I won’t lie: the cover caused me a lot of pain.  Since I have decided to start doing my own covers, I had to buckle down and start learning Photoshop, which combines all the fun of a new, incredibly complex, software program while finger-painting.  In case you’re wondering, no, I did not draw those images, I got them from Adobe Stock, but then I had to merge the dang things and…

Anyway, then there was the Table of Contents.  I may have gone completely gray in the past couple of days, and my relaxing Easter weekend, when I was going to chill, take antibiotics, and try to make a tiny, tiny bit of progress against the Loathsome Lyme (I have fairly severe late-stage Lyme disease) has turned into a formatting stress-fest–but my glorious book is now here!  The blurb and the link are below:

So which danger are you, grandmother? Wolves?  Snow?  Hunger? Or something other?

Something other, my dear.

Classic Russian fairy tales are reimagined in this subversive collection of stories set in the matriarchal world of Zem’.  Precursors to the award-winning novels of The Zemnian Series, these stories, part fantasy, part literary fiction, present a world where women are powerful rulers, warriors, and workers of magic, but nature is more powerful still.  For fans of The Mists of Avalon and other female-oriented fantasy, as well as metaphysical/visionary writing.
