The Breathing Sea II: Drowning is the sequel to The Breathing Sea I: Burning and a continuation to The Zemnian Series.  Like its predecessors, it interweaves myth, magic, and literature to create a unique and subversive story about a land where women rule, but only tenuously, and the borders between the natural and human worlds are vanishingly thin.  For lovers of Jacqueline Carey’s richly imagined Kushiel series, Ursula K. Le Guin’s challenging dystopian utopias, or classical Russian fiction.

About the author: After receiving an MA in Russian Translation from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Slavic Language and Literature from UNC-Chapel Hill, E.P.
