Hi Everyone!

And then the next bit of exciting news: I’m working on creating a special illustrated edition of The Midnight Land I: The Flight! This is in the way of doing a trial run with Book Vault, a new printer that is supposed to be able to do all kinds of fancy things with color. I’ve hired a former student who is about to start a grad program in illustration to do the cover and interior illustrations, and I’ve been thrilled with what she’s done so far. I will be sure to let you know as soon as the book is available; in the meantime, here’s one of her illustrations to whet your appetite:

Other than that, I’ve been playing a lot with the dogs. Poju, my older dog, just had to have some teeth extracted :(((((( But it doesn’t appear to be slowing him down much :)))))

This picture was taken the day after the extractions. He’ll need some more taken out, which because of his Addison’s disease is a slightly fraught process, but he did so well with the first batch that I’m very encouraged. (And in case you’re worried: everyone was having a great time here!).

Meanwhile, Fitz, the puppy, is also experiencing tooth issues–namely, teething. I’m sure you’ll be shocked to hear that he’s chewing on everything.

Here he is gnawing on the back stairs. Fortunately, Tabasco sauce seems to discourage him. He’s also getting more and more athletic, especially for a little guy with way too much back and not nearly enough leg.

Here he is taking a running leaping off the porch during an epic play session with Poju this morning. This picture isn’t perfect, but it’s the best I’ve managed so far, and I do like the flying ears 🙂 , so here you go 🙂 🙂
